Troop Leader Information

Qualifications: All Volunteers are required to complete and clear a background check prior to working with Girls and submit a Volunteer Agreement form annually and continue to be a registered member of GSUSA. Service Unit Age level mentors and Council membership specialists are available for support throughout the year.
Training: All Girl Scout Leaders must complete required training. This training includes Girl Scouting 101, Service Unit Orientation, Girl Scout Program Basics, Troop Paperwork & Trip Planning, CPR/AED & First Aid certified. Troop Assistants and Co-leaders are encouraged to attend training so that there's more than one qualified volunteer available. Troop Fall Product Sales Chair and Troop Cookie Program Chair must attend Service Unit training before handling funds, paperwork, and products.
Field Trips: Submit all Trip/Camp Activity Request form to our SU Trip approval & travel Coordinator; some field trips require additional approval from GSCCC. The leader must complete specific training before taking field trips. Activities deemed high risk may need additional insurance. Certificate of Insurance should be verified. Approval emails will be sent to the originator.
Finances: The Troop banking information form must be updated annually in September. Two unrelated adult volunteers are required to co-sign on all Troop Bank Accounts. NEW! Troop Debit/Visa cards available. Order through you bank representative.
