When you arrive at Camp Darden or Camp Skimino, make sure you check in with your camp coordinators to let them know you and your Scouts have arrived. It is respectful for troops to meet at morning and evening flag ceremonies that are being presented by girls. A emergency fire drill will be conducted during camp time. Only authorized volunteers with Girl Scout Outdoor 1 and Outdoor 2 training may be allowed to use fire pits. Every troop must provide a first aider. A Buddy system for girls is used for all encampments and all troop must adhere to the safety ratio of a minimum of 2 registered adults. Please contact your camp coordinator(s) if you have specific questions concerning camping. One adult volunteer in the troop must have completed Outdoor 1 training at a GSCCC camp site prior to working with girls for encampment.
Additionally, Outdoor 2 training is required for overnight stays with troop. Outdoor 3 and wilderness training are available for advanced volunteers interested. All training for extended troop camping fieldtrips will be verified and approved by a Council representative.
